She will go a long way to reduce her wrinkles, get a glow to her face and look great THE NATURAL WAY. Besides, her motto is that every wrinkle she has – she earned with hard work 🙂 She loves treating people, loves seeing results, and most of all – loves getting compliments from clients after each and every treatment.

County Individual Artist Grant, a re-grant program of the New York State Council on the Arts
with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York Legislature and administered in

her project: Patchwork Landscape, a new body of work inspired by the local nature and
ecology of Delaware County, New York. The artwork will be exhibited with an artist talk at the
Walton Theatre Parlor Gallery in Walton, New York in October 2023. The exhibition dates are
October 7th – November 5th 2023. GG lives in Delaware County New York and her studio and
gallery are in Delhi, New York.

About my art:
I am an abstract visual artist whose artwork is inspired most recently by the local nature existing
in the outdoor world where I live. When hiking the forests of Delaware County New York
experiencing the colors, lines, shapes, textures and patterns from the surrounding environment
they awaken my senses. Seeing the multiple horizons of the Catskills foothills, hearing the
sounds of running water from a nearby stream, glimpsing a pair of foxes, deer and other wildlife
in the distance, I am captivated by all of the activity within this unique landscape. I search for
reminders heart-shaped rocks, multi-colored leaves, wild flowers, or flotsam and jetsam along
the Delaware River. These vistas and artifacts forge a memory connection to specific times and
places. They are the inspiration for imagery and content in my artwork that is a compilation of
visual journaling, painting, papermaking, collaging and printmaking. My process involves
working with various media while referencing discovered objects, memory, photo
documentation, field guides, global and world art histories.

Jeanette Brown – President of Excellence & Presence Communications

Today, Tes speaks with Jeanette Brown. Jeanette has brought effective public relations, branding, marketing and positive crisis resolution solutions to clients across a variety of industries. When thousands of loyal Maker’s Mark Bourbon drinkers revolted online after Maker’s Mark announced they were lowering the alcohol content in the iconic product, Jeanette was a key member of the team Beam Suntory, the parent company, hired to restore customer confidence in their brand. Swift action with the brand owners, communication in social media and consumer influencers brought what would be called a faux pas comparable to Coca Cola’s 1980s misstep to a footnote in bourbon history. Within a week Maker’s Mark fans’ confidence was restored as they happily awaited the return of the original proof bourbon they had grown to love.

In 2016, she managed the “dieselgate” Volkswagen and Audi emissions scandal. By quickly digging in and understanding the problem facing the automaker, confidence in the restoration process was restored as lawsuits became the headlines. The following year, she managed communications for PepsiCo while they pulled an ad featuring Kendall Jenner that was racially insensitive and borrowed heavily from Black Lives Matter. In 2020, Jeanette led the team in managing New Orleans based Tales of Cocktails Foundation, through a robust PR and Risk Management program to announce its first-ever virtual seminar. EPC secured a renowned anti-bias keynote speaker, drafted speeches for the organization’s leaders and procured its first-ever multicultural media partners and diversity events. Jeanette graduated from The City College of New York with a B.A. in Communications. In addition to working on several corporate crisis and diversity programs, she earned a DEI certificate from the Institute for Teaching Diversity and Social Justice.
Jeanette is a Brooklyn, New York native whose family tree branches reach the Caribbean, including Trinidad and Jamaica. Her appreciation for community, family, and culture developed while growing up in Bushwick’s multi-ethnic neighborhood. The sounds of Latin music filled every bodega, the aroma of exotic dishes infiltrated the air, and everyone was treated like family at celebrations.

Today, Jeanette lives with her sons Dylan and Derek in Atlanta, Georgia. When she is not enjoying episodes of the Power Rangers or tracking the latest OG 1s drop, she studies plants and healthy lifestyle practices to remain grounded as a mom, business owner, and self-proclaimed sneaker connoisseur.

Misty Griffin – Author of Tears of the Silenced

Today’s guest is Misty Griffin. Misty is the author of her best selling memoir “Tears of the Silenced”. Misty wrote her memoir to raise awareness about child abuse and sexual assault coverup among the Amish and other strict religious groups.

Misty Griffin’s inspiring story takes you through her ordeal as a severely abused child and then
her experiences as a young woman in an Amish community- a place where pedophilia was
never reported or punished – and finally her escape and efforts to save her sister and bring the
perpetrators to justice, all while adapting to a modern life she had never known.

Now a Registered Nurse, happily married and with a child of her own, Misty has dedicated her
life to save children from the hell she endured. She is the Consulting Producer on the
documentary series about child abuse in Amish and other cloistered communities, which aired on Peacock this past May as “Sins of the Amish”. She has also been to D.C, accompanied by her former Mennonite friend Jasper Hoffman and spoken personally to a member of congress about sexual assault and child abuse among the Amish and Mennonites.

Misty hopes to pass legislation to mandate reporting of child abuse in cloistered communities
such as the Amish and to extend Erin’s Law – which mandates age-appropriate sex abuse
prevention education in public schools – to private schools and religious communities. Misty’s
change.org petition #invisible calls on Congress, the Senate and President Biden to take
action.
